Atlanta Fire Chief Gets Fired! Loses Job But Keeps His Faith.

The church is in an age where little foxes no longer creep in through cracks and holes, they’re literally being permitted into the affairs of our hearts, entertained and audienced by our sense of spirituality. However, a new tide has hit the body of Christ. The rising trend in Christiandom is “no compromise.” There are “sick-and-tired” sons of Faith who are anchored on the truth and will see to it that hell’s gates fail.

One of these bent-on-revival Christians is Deacon Kevin Cochran, an Atlanta Fire Chief who was fired from his job because of his Christian faith. This may not be news to some people, but Souls TV finds his story priceless in a USA where the word of God is being hushed away from the streets and public places. He decided to cast not away his confidence because he knew of God’s great recompense of reward.

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

(Eph 4:17-22)

So, how did he profess his faith to earn his job loss (but glory-gain)? He authored a book called “Who told you that you were naked?” for a men’s group in his local assembly. The book features some categorical remarks about homosexuals and gays, a common place in the western world.

So mightily grew the content of the book that the Mayor took offense and was deeply troubled that a high-ranking Chief trusted by the American people to be a leader of a diverse people was of such preposterous opinions about gays.
His words on to the public were thus:

“I want to be clear that the material in Chief Cochran’s book is not representative of my personal beliefs, and is inconsistent with the Administration’s work to make Atlanta a more welcoming city for all of her citizens — regardless of their sexual orientation, gender, race and religious beliefs,” Mayor Reed wrote.

If only the Mayor knew that the book was for an entire generation, and not just a community! If only the Mayor knew that the book was another facet of God’s grace to the sons who were tending to perdition! What short-sighted leaders we have in rule!

But hold up… what exactly did the Chief write? See below:

“Naked men refuse to give in, so they pursue sexual fulfillment through multiple partners, with the opposite sex, the same sex, and sex outside of marriage and many other vile, vulgar and inappropriate ways which defile their body – temple and dishonor God.”

Cochran merely referenced homosexuality on less than a half a page in the 160-page book. The passage was more to cast a light on sex. He says:

“I did not single out homosexuality,” he said. ‘I simply spoke to sex being created by God for pro-creation and He intended it to be between a man and a woman in holy matrimony – and that any other sex outside of that is sin.”

The presiding pastor of his parish expressed his heart on the matter too:

“It’s a frightening day in the United States when a person cannot express their faith without fears of persecution following,” he says. “It’s persecution when a godly fire chief loses his job over expressing his Christian faith.”

Lost his job but faith is as fiery as ever, and to us at Souls Tv, nothing could be more golden! He isn’t downcast. He is very glad that his story can make the headlines and spread some more of the power of salvation.

“I’m not discouraged and I’m not downtrodden,” he said. “This is a God thing and He’s going to do great things and He will vindicate me publicly.”

It’s too easy to lose sight of the things we’ve been called to, but God has his army rising up, his 7,000 who haven’t kissed Baal, his 300 men who are ready for the battle because faithful is He who promised victory.

God’s Love So Real in the Midst of Mystery Illness

Mat 24:7-8 “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

The Son of Man arose with healing in His wings to ensure that no plague comes near our dwelling. He is the author of life and we have access to this life by virtue of our faith in Jesus and in His words. The centurion did not have to wait for Jesus to arrive at his house for his servant to be healed. He just held unto the spoken word of Christ and that was what was needed to overcome the illness – His faith. God has plans for each of these children and there is no need to panic because these heritage of God cannot be left alone. They were born to reign. Let’s join forces and speak life and health concerning these children. It is time to lay hold on God’s promises concerning these children and not to despair. There is power in the name of Jesus.

Over 1000 children in the US have reported to the hospital with a strange illness. The symptoms relate to those of common cold and get worse as the children eventually have difficulty breathing.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC suspects it is a virus called Human Enterovirus 68, but it is not yet confirmed. There is presently no cure for it. Despite the fact that there seems to be no cure, Peter in his epistle, makes us understand that for those in Christ, healing is a done deal.

1Pe 2:24 “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

“We are in the middle of looking in to this. We don’t have all the answers yet”, Mark Pallansch, a virologist and director of the CDC’s Division of Viral Diseases, told CNN.

The CDC has received information on similar cases from at least 10 states. Doctors say children under 5 years and those with asthma are most vulnerable.

Declare health and healing over your children in faith, knowing that God’s word in your mouth is alive and powerful.

Evangels! Are You Counting Your Sheep, Or They Don’t Count Anymore?

This is Evangel talk 112:-

The pursuit of ministry should be done in consistency with the instruction of the Holy Ghost.

Although there is no where in the scriptures that literally addresses “reaching down to backsliders”, nevertheless the acts of the Holy Spirit are infinitely observed in His mission to wake up the “lamps without oil.”

Unfortunately, we are sometimes so busy with our man-made-agenda church that we are blind to see the gradual evangelistic erosion in our calling.

“…that ye should GO and BRING FORTH FRUIT and that YOUR FRUIT SHOULD REMAIN… (John 15:16b).

Did you see that?

Our GO! Mission is not complete until it “remains.”

The revelation of remnants in the bible is ultimately for a continuum of God’s glory on earth.

I know you’ve preached (GO) to about 50 people this year, but How many of them have gone back with the fowl breath of worldliness?

Can you count your remaining sheep or they don’t just count?

Have you given up on some because of their adamant response to you?

Are you just a religious evangelist; interested in preaching without “remainders”?

Are you distracted by your own personal issues because you realized later it’s easier to win souls than to follow them up?

Did your fruit remain in… faith, church, department …?

It’s time to reach down.

Two of the most potent weapons the devil is employing for his “new world order” against the church is “confusion by deceit and identity theft by social ills.”

The faith that influenced the world is now weakened by lifestyles that cause many to stumble.

Have you heard about the woman from the “strippers pole” church? She preaches with her breast out of her bra! Teachings of the gospel is now SNLV censored! Obviously this woman is representing “one of the christs” not My Jesus! Yes, she is not. I can’t find one ambassadorial quality in her. Run guys! Babylon is on rampage (Read Jude).

We are secretly engaged in the heathen’s feast, yet we call them an adulterous world?

Keji Hamilton and the Evangelist who wouldn’t just give up!

Hello Evangels, and all our readers.

This two-edged story starts with a focus on the sinner and ends with focus on the soul-winner.

To the sinner, you’re never too far from His everlasting arms. How bad are you? How far from the cross are you? How deep in your sin are you? Read this story and receive your miracle!

He (Keji Hamilton) was the son of a Chief Imam, raised as a devout muslim. He had a dream of being a Pharmacist one day until he read something foul in a book authored by Kwame Nkrumah, stating that the white man’s education wasn’t for the black man, and that turned the course of his life forever. Damning his admission to one of the most prestigious Universities in Nigeria, he went on to tell his father about his lack of zeal for books and passion for music. His father advised strongly against it, but he defied and moved to the then-popular Kalakuta Republic, the residence of the father of Afro-beats, Fela.

Fela housed several “wannabes”, just like Keji, so he gave him a room in Kalakuta Republic. He used to prowl through Fela’s vast library because he loved reading, and from reading, he tapped into a perverted power on how to play the rhythm guitar. Fela was stunned at his precision and skill, and he immediately got him to join his band of musicians who were making ripples across the world back then.

As he got playing for Fela on different stages, he was gradually introduced to hard drugs of which he became a die-hard addict. He began to yearn for a large quantity of drugs daily, so he was led into robbery and crime. Week after week, he would plot robberies with a gang of 11, storming homes, killing, raping and looting away fortunes in Lagos and other cities.

He was arrested several times. His name became well known in Police stations, especially in Lagos. However, no police had the power to change him. His insatiable thirst for drugs almost drove him mad. In every country he stepped foot, he was such a truant, engaging in gun fights and drug deals, while making music with Fela. He got so twisted in his messed up life that he began to live in fears of his crimes, so he sought “protection” through “deep and perverted” sources. For many years, he was supposedly “covered” by the forces of darkness, until his entire gang of rebels were caught, and the Police heads listed him for execution because his name was too recurrent in their crime files. He got the heads up from one of his loyals within the Police force and took refuge in a brothel at another area of Lagos. He camped in a room, paid a 6-month advance, and accommodated three prostitutes with him. He was also a hard core sex addict, getting into intimate relationships with all manner of women.

One Sunday morning, after the usual Comprehensive Show at Fela’s Shrine, he was resting in his brothel room when there was a knock on the door. He opened it to see a wonderful looking young man wearing white apparel, smiling with gladness and inviting him to worship at his church. He gave the young man two unexpected slaps (yes, on the right and left cheek). He told him off and warned him to never return. Slammed the door on him too. The evangelist didn’t relent. He was on a mission and every hard-core Zion-ordained minister of the gospel understands that it’s a good fight of faith. So, he probably said a prayer for Keji, as he slipped a word-tract under his door. He kept repeating that for the subsequent weeks. After a while, the evangelist stopped coming, and Keji suddenly had a desire to see him. Little did Keji know that he was being incubated by the word already, and the time of his spiritual birth in Christ was drawing close.

The night of his encounter, his drug-intake went wrong, and he began to cough and vomit blood. In his pain and misery, he cried to Jesus to heal him all of a sudden, he slept. To his surprise, he woke up the next day feeling strong and knowing that he was healed!!! He picked one of the tracts and read it, enjoyed it, and went ahead to the church whose address was on the tract. The rest is history.

Today, Keji Hamilton pastors The Tabernacle of Prayer Global Network. He has been saved, delivered from the grip of darkness into God’s marvellous light.

If he went through all this and still experienced the redeeming love of Jesus, you can too. Indeed, what an amazing grace, that could save a wretch like this. A man who went to the deepest depths and the lowest lows. A man who romanced with charms and was threatened to never disclose his evil deeds done in the dark caves of idolatry and perverseness. A man who was listed to be killed by the law enforcers because his crimes against humanity were far too unforgivable. A man who did things your mind cannot even imagine! Yes, today, he is a partaker of the divine nature of God to us-ward! He is saved, restored, refreshed, renewed, revived and alive in Christ forever more!

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1 Pet 2:9

Through this story, Souls TV would like to thank God for the availability of this evangelist who made this story beautiful for Keji. In this story, Keji is the saved, and the Evangelist was the hero who lit the way for this once-upon-a-time-wretch.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 2 Tim 4:5 

Evangels all around the world have initiated ministries, kicked off revivals, given birth to spiritual sons, stirred up giftings amidst insults, degradations, abuses, disrespect and harsh receptions. This evangelist was no different. He wasn’t moved by Keji’s reaction. He knew he had to break through a barrier to get to the heart of Keji’s matter. He relentlessly must have gone back to pray for Keji, declaring him as a harvest in God’s field. He must have prayed that every tract slipped under the doors goes forth with power and comes back to the Kingdom in good measure. Today, that great Sunday-morning, radical evangelist may never know Keji, and Keji may never know him, but there was joy in heaven over Keji’s soul.

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Luk 15:7

Thank you Evangelists. Thank you. You are the reason for great ministries, visions being birthed, callings being received, and much joy in heaven. Don’t be weary in well doing!

Keep on preaching as if Jesus died yesterday, rose today and is coming back tomorrow.
